| The mission of the Foster Kidd
Foundation is to support and promote the development of
self-esteem, academic excellence, character and sportsmanship among
young people between the ages of eight (8) and eighteen (18) through
active achievement of excellence in the classroom while learning the
game of golf. The Foundation assists in providing
life experiences for aspiring disadvantaged youth & junior golfers,
while setting high standards to preserve the integrity and traditions of
the game of golf while focusing on the educational aspects of today's
disadvantaged youth and offering financial resources where needed.
The Foster Kidd Foundation participants are proportionately weighted toward family income, reflecting the need for affordable accessibility. These facts are the drivers behind our program:
The Pro Duffers Junior Golf Program consist of approximately 50 youths that participate in a structured program during the months of May - August. The junior golfers are merged into various other programs that best meetings their golfing needs whether a beginner or an advance low stroke handicap player. Programs such as The First Tee of Dallas, Leonard Jones Foundation and the Roaring Lambs Junior Golf Academy are some of the programs that The Foundation partners with. The junior golfers are instructed by members of the Pro Duffers Golf Club - Southwest Chapter, First Tee of Dallas, Leonard Jones Foundation and the Roaring Lambs Junior Golf Academy in Fort Worth. Instructions includes putting, pitching, chipping and driving as it relates to golf. Included within those instruction are basic life skills such as honesty, sportsmanship and integrity. Academics is a key ingredient stressed to each youth benefiting from the program's of the Foster Kidd Foundation. The Foundation is making a difference in the community. You can see it in the eyes and attitudes of the youngsters in the communities we serve. |
